Since 1979, FFA has facilitated regional cooperation so that all Pacific countries benefit from the sustainable use of tuna – which currently contributes around USD $1 billion per annum to Pacific economies through access revenue and contribution to GDP, and is important for many people’s livelihoods in the Pacific.
About the Opportunity
FFA now has a fantastic opportunity for a Human Resources Performance Analyst to join our Corporate Services Division. This is a full-time role based in Honiara, in the Solomon Islands. This appointment is made on a three-year term and may be renewable for a further three years subject to availability of funds, ongoing need for the position and performance.
Reporting to the Manager Human Resources and Administration, this position exists to-:
- Support the Manager HR to drive organizational development initiatives including learning and talent development, performance management to ensure that these are aligned with the Agency’s strategic goals and objectives.
- Support the management and the further development of the human resource information systems (HRIS) and HR data model for improved efficiency in the HR systems and processes for overall organisational success.
- Lead learning and development initiatives focussed on organisational and individual growth and development to improve employee productivity, optimize talent management and drive the agency’s strategic goals.
- Develop and Implement key HR metrics for data-driven analysis to track and report employee performance, productivity and engagement to improve overall organizational effectiveness.
- Assist in the Agency’s workforce planning process to help shape strategic decisions and optimize workforce performance.
- Manage the Agency’s health insurance policy to ensure compliance, cost-efficiency, employee satisfaction, and ongoing policy effectiveness to deliver value and security through the organization’s medical insurance program

About You
To be considered for this position you will have tertiary qualification in Human Resources Management or similar field.
You need to:
- Have at least seven years of hands-on experience administering Human Resources Regulations, Policies, Procedures and human resources services in an organization with about one hundred employees, your in-depth expertise and strategic understanding of a broad range of contemporary HR principles and practices to drive organisation success and influence business decisions is very much needed.
- Have in-depth understanding of learning and development principles and practices particularly on how they contribute to employees having the necessary skills and knowledge to meet their current job requirements, your expertise in Performance Management Systems and the ability to apply performance management processes at a strategic level to enhance individual and organizational productivity and growth is required.
- Detailed knowledge of the HRIS tools and analytics capabilities so that information can be utilised to drive strategic decision making enhance employee experience and align HR with organisational goals is needed.
- Proven knowledge in strategic planning, including review of results and indicators for the medium term and work plan developments as well as your experience in a multicultural workplace and in respect of Gender Equality, Diversity and Social Inclusion issues is highly regarded

- The Pacific Islands Forum Fisheries Agency (FFA) is offering the successful candidate a competitive salary of USD$45,228.00 – USD$63,685.00 p,a including Location and COLDA allowances, TAX-FREE for citizens of most countries.
- An appointment offer is normally made at 85% of the salary grade for the position. Where justified the Director-General has the discretion to appoint at a higher level within the salary grades and ranges.
- You will also have superannuation paid at 7.5% into either a nominated fund or as an additional cash supplement. FFAreimburses all reasonable medical, dental, and optical expenses for yourself and dependents. Insurance coverage is also provided for personal accident, life, medical & repatriation.
- Education for dependent children will be reimbursed at 75% of tuition fees (Conditions apply).If your dependent child is educated overseas, paid school travel may be available for you or your child to visit each contract year.
- Accommodation assistance is also available.
- Additionally, relocation expenses will be paid, with an establishment grant paid on arrival in Honiara. Annual airfares back to your country of domicile will be provided. There is also a retention incentive of 21% of your base salary which will be paid on the completion of your 3-year contract.
- On top of all this, you will have access to 6 weeks of annual leave each year.
